2009 Delaware Duck Stamp Contest

Dear Artist:

Delaware's Division of Fish & Wildlife is pleased to host the state's 2009 Migratory Waterfowl Contest. Rules and regulations for entering can be found herePlease read over them carefully as the 2009 contest marks a new series for the state duck stamp and many changes have been made for it. The contest date and location are yet to be determined, but entries must be postmarked no later than midnight, March 10, 2008.

Fish & Wildlife would like to thank you for supporting the Delaware's Duck Stamp program. Funds from the sale of the duck stamp are used to improve waterfowl habitat in Delaware and Canada. More than $2.3 million has been generated from the sale of duck stamps and artwork since the program began in 1980. This would not be possible without the contribution of artists such as you.

If you have any questions, please contact me by phone or email. Delaware's Division of Fish & Wildlife looks forward to receiving your entry!

Sincerely,

Amanda Belford

The 2006 Delaware state duck stamp featured Richard Clifton's rendering of a pair of red-breasted mergansers flying past the Port Mahon Lighthouse. Mr. Clifton, an artist from Milford, Del., also won the 2006 federal duck stamp competition with his painting that featured a swimming pair of ring-necked ducks. The federal duck stamp from his artwork is bought and used throughout the nation this year by waterfowlers and National Wildlife Refuge visitors.
