Are you concerned about Delaware’s wildlife? Do you enjoy watching wildlife? Hunting? Fishing? Birding? If you would like to make your habitat more attractive to wildlife, the Division of Fish and Wildlife may have a program for you! The Division's Landowner Incentive Program provides technical and financial assistance to private landowners interested in restoring habitat for wildlife. Give us a call to see if you qualify!
What is the Delaware Landowner Incentive Program (DELIP)?
The Delaware Landowner Incentive Program (DELIP) offers private landowners technical and financial incentives to protect, enhance and/or restore habitat to benefit species-at-risk. This may range from creating shallow water wetland habitats for migratory shorebirds to planting trees for the Delmarva Fox Squirrel. Although DELIP money is geared toward species-at-risk, habitat work for those species always translates to benefits for a wide suite of animals including many game species.
Who is eligible?
Any private landowner interested in improving wildlife habitat on their property is eligible for DELIP. This program is aimed at all types of landowners, from those interested in improving a few acres to those who manage hundreds of acres of land.
How do I apply?
Staff biologists are available to meet with landowners to discuss how you can improve wildlife habitat on your property. Biologists will also provide information on available conservation programs, develop conservation plans and help landowners enroll in applicable conservation programs.
Don’t miss out! If you are unsure if your property qualifies, have questions regarding programs and/or just want to learn more contact one of the biologists at the bottom of the page for more detailed information on these programs and how we can help you.
